Asthma, a warning
Here is a warning for asthmatics especially during the ‘flu season.
It comes from the Chief Executive of the major medical research body, Asthma UK. The warning comes in reply to this question, “does exposure to house dust mites make asthma symptoms worse?” The answer; “It is undoubtedly the case that exposing a sensitised person to house dust mites will generally make their asthma symptoms worse. There is also evidence to suggest that dual exposure to house dust mites and viral infections in sensitised individuals can have a synergistic effect and cause severe asthma exacerbation.”
In other words, mite exposure can affect you beyond allergy. Be warned.
